Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE)

The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) was established on October 12, 1978 and has been recognized as a Statutory Department and one of the departments of the University of Mumbai since 1994. In our college the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) was initiated in the academic year 2007-08 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the college and the community. The Department serves as an intellectual intervention in the community’s living problems which need to be overcome through an educational process. It helps to enhance knowledge of students through wider exposure to real life situations. The DLLE is committed to conduct community oriented activities with the motto reach to unreached. The students visit the sections of the society. The department offers the students extension work projects encompassing social issues to develop a sense of responsibility towards society.

The DLLE activities help to face life and its challenges with greater commitment and enhance employability, skills and develop a positive attitude. At present our DLLE extension activities are being conducted on a regular basis in annual program of 4 extension teachers and around 200 students from Arts, Commerce and Self Finance courses, involved in three extension projects such as Career Project (CP), Anna Purna Yojan (APY) and PAN Card Making Project. The students who complete 120 hours of work on the extension work projects successfully are entitled to get 10 grace marks under the university ordinance 0.229A at the end of semester 2, 4 and 6
